July has only just started, but you have to start planning for back to school crafts and kids sewing projects early on. If you have multiple kids, then you know how much school supplies can add up quickly. When I was in elementary school, they had local school lists for the grade in each school. My mom had three girls in elementary school and middle school, so the list added up pretty quick. She’s not as sewing savvy as she would like to be, but if she had found these easy sewing patterns, she would be able to make them easily and save so much money.

Kids’ school outfit ideas and fashions can get pricey too. I always wanted a new outfit for the first day of school when I was a kid. Actually, I still always want a first day of school outfit. A new outfit projects a confidence, even from a young age. If you look good, you feel good. I know you want to give your child an awesome outfit, but you also don’t want to spend the same amount on their clothing as you do on yours. Kid’s clothes are supposed to be durable and cheaper. So make them yourself! DIY girl’s clothes and homemade boys clothes for school are going to be your favorite project this summer. These are great projects to get your kids involved in your sewing and for them to get excited about their clothing. Have them choose the colors and patterns so they can see the clothes and crafts that you make with them.
I know not all kids are super excited about homemade clothing though, especially those going into middle and high school, but you can still make some fun DIY locker organizers and school supplies. From DIY school supplies to homemade clothes, this is your favorite list of the best kids back to school projects to make before you break the bank. The easy patterns and cute kids designs will have your child ready to go back to school as much as you are to get them there. Soon enough, the summer days will be winding down into the crisp September, so hurry and get started on these easy patterns otherwise you’ll be surprised when school starts.
