As you’re starting to get your sewing machines and embroidery needles ready for your early Christmas crafting, make sure you remember the little items that truly complete your home decor. Oh, I know we are always treading the line between the perfect DIY Christmas decor and Christmas overload. We don’t want our homes to look like we bought everything from the biggest Christmas store in America, now do we? Although I can’t hire an interior decorator to take care of all my home decor needs, I do have my super craft ideas and a loyal sewing machine. I’ve mentioned in other posts that I just moved in to a new apartment and I have been having an absolute ball decorating. I quickly found out in my first few weeks in my new home that decorating is so expensive. Luckily, I’ve had plenty of homemade home decor and decorating crafts to keep me occupied and that furbish my little abode nicely.
That’s why I’m so excited for Christmas to come around this year. Not only am I going to fill it to the brim with DIY Christmas spirit, but I’m going to be saving so much money by upcycling fabric and making some scrap projects. It will definitely be a colorful Christmas. The decorations I’m worried about most, though, are the ornaments. I’m skipping the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree and getting a full-sized, pre-lit tree. I know this will take up a lot of space in my home. No, I don’t know where I am going to put it after the holidays. I think about the here and now…just five months in advance. Anyways, I didn’t get too many ornaments growing up, so I have to make do with my own homemade ornaments. It will be really fun diving into my scrap pile to make these cute ornaments to decorate my tree.
You may think I’m crazy that I’m sewing for Christmas so far in advance, but really, with all the holidays between now and then, I’ll barely be able to get everything done in time. But then again, you guys are probably doing the same thing as me! With so many themes and DIY Christmas crafts, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly you want to convey during the holiday season. That’s why these are the best homemade ornaments! They have so many colors and patterns that they can easily be personalized to fit to your decor.
