When I think about Christmas, I think of a well-decorated tree, a fire crackling on the hearth, and, hanging right above the fireplace, a brightly-colored Christmas stocking hanging up and waiting for Santa. Now that I’m older, I might not necessarily figure Santa as much into the equation, but every year without fail there are still stockings hanging above my fireplace for my family and I. To me, that says Christmas just as much as candy canes or homemade cookies.
Since it’s such a time-honored tradition in so many families, why not step it up this year and make stocking from scratch instead of buying the cheap store-bought kind? A personal touch can go a long way not only for sprucing up your holiday festivities, but for making the day more memorable for you and your family, as well. For one, there’s the joy of creating something that you and your loved ones can pull out year after year. For another, you can make sure that your family’s stockings match the rest of your holiday decor by making them yourself!
