DIY Heating Pad

February 2, 2016 by Seams and Scissors 1 Comment

Achy muscles are a pain (get it?) any time of year, but I feel like they’re extra miserable in the winter – the cold makes everything feel ten times worse. It’s nice to soak sore neck and shoulder muscles in a hot bath when you can, but not all of us have the time (or even the bathtub!) to do this on the regular. A DIY Heating Pad is the perfect solution! All you have to do is heat it up in the microwave and you’re all set to soothe your muscles while doing other things, like watching TV (or working on a sewing project!)

DIY Heating PadThis heating pad tutorial from Sew Can She is easy to make – you can even use up your old fabric scraps for it so you’re not wasting new fabric!

I have made these, but used kiln dried cherry pits……they ARE WASHABLE!!! Seeing the different fabrics used here, I have a thought…..divide the rice & put some in each section & stitch in the ditch before filling the next section, etc. It would be a better distribution of the weight.
