An English Garden: 12 Floral Quilt Patterns

April 7, 2016 by Seams and Scissors 6 Comments

Now that it’s spring, the weather has been getting slightly warmer and the days slightly longer. The combination of those things always makes me want to get outside! I have this vision of having a picnic lunch outside in an English garden, surrounded by flowers and fresh green grass. I’ve never actually done any gardening and everything I know about England I learned from watching the BBC’s “Pride and Prejudice” miniseries, but a girl can dream, right?

If you’re daydreaming about sipping tea in a floral garden, too, but you’re without a plane ticket to London or an expanse of well-groomed flowers, I’ve got your back: these 12 floral quilt patterns are just the thing to capture the mood of a springtime tea party without worrying about getting grass stains on your pants! There’s no better time to start one of these free quilt patterns – we’re just at the start of spring, so you can capture its essence in your quilt and keep it with you long into the humid, sticky months of summer. Not to mention that there’s nothing like a floral quilt to cheer you up on a rainy day!

Lilacs have always been my favorite flower. Growing up both of my Grandmothers had huge Lilac bushes growing front of huge windows that you could sit by and see the beauty and with the windows open the scent would fill the entire house. Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful patterns! Have a fantastic creative day!

Yes I love the smell of lilacs too! Grandmothers
Had beautiful flowers and treasured them so when you and I grew up.
Hope this finds you doing fine. Just ran across this post by accident when I looked up a quilt. Don’t know if I saw it when you posted it or not.
    Have a great day!

I love Lilacs and Roses. Both are s fragrant and beautiful. My Mother loved Roses, and had a small garden of them. She had a green thumb, and we lived in California

I love dahlias and gladioli. My daddy was a wonderful gardener and had them every year.

Hi, several of your links are bad. They go to an “oops” message.
I wanted to see the pattern for the quilt in the third photo down… it is made with Anna Marie Horner prints.
