October 2, 2015 by FaveQuilts 4 Comments

If you’re anything like me, there’s a drawer in your dresser or a box in your closet that’s absolutely crammed with old t-shirts. From high school clubs to college events, from family reunions to 5ks (which I walked, for the record), it seems like all of my major life events from the age of 14 on have warranted a commemorative shirt. I don’t wear them anymore and some of them have certainly seen better days, but for whatever reason something comes over me whenever I try to get rid of one that makes me say “well, there’s no harm in keeping it, I guess.” If the nostalgia factor has also left you with a crowded closet, why not turn these old clothes into a DIY t-shirt quilt?

Our latest eBook, How to Make a T-Shirt Quilt: 11 T-Shirt Quilts, is full of simple quilt patterns that can help you take your t-shirts from clutter to cozy, perfect for beginners and quilt-a-holics alike. You’ll learn how to make a t-shirt quilt several different ways, plus other fun t-shirt projects like a pillow or a tote bag!

The “pop -up ads” on this web site are VERY DISTRACTING. Often they make reading the article next to impossible. I understand this is a “free” site, BUT, please use some common sense with these ads.

I would love to give a comment on the T-shirt Quilt, but became too distracted by the pop up ads.

I make T-shirts for my friends who have lost children or husbands. Unfortunately, I have been busy. I still have more to make, I had a friend killed in a motorcycle accident this August. I know his family and a family who was his second family. I will be making each one a quilt. I also make quilts for my friends who have cancer but they aren’t t-shirt quilts. Needless to say I am very behind on my work.
