This is part of a week-long Sew-Along series for National Sewing Month. Don’t forget to enter the Grand Prize Giveaway!
Hey everyone, Katie from Punk Projects here! Today I’m sharing part three of three for this cute fox tote bag. If you missed them, check out Part 1 and Part 2.
Finishing up
- To finish up the tote bag, start by added a finished hem to the top edges of the bag.
2. Place the ears behind the front top edge of the tote bag, about half an inch down, and stitch them in place.
3. Fold the tote bag in half, wrong side out. Pin it and stitch down the long side seams, making sure to leave at least a 1/4 seam allowance.
4. Cut a 1 yard length of ribbon and pin each end to the sides of the tote bag, as pictured below. Stitch them to the tote bag.
Once you’ve stitched on the ribbon strap, you are all done!

I definitely prefer owls. They’re mysterious, big-eyed and snatch up rodents for yummy meals. They’re hooting sound is so cool and they way they turn their head so slowly is fun to watch!
Definitely owls. Flashback to the movie Labyrinth with David Bowie and Jennifer Connolly.
Both cute, but at heart I’m a bird person…so owls it is!
Hard to decide. Owls with their big eyes and ability to turn their heads as much as 270 degrees are beautiful, amazing birds. Foxes are just beautiful animals. So please don’t make me choose.
Owls are my preference. Thanks!
I like owls, but think foxes are cuter.
Wonderful we can use this with allot of animals, the kids will love it. simple and cute.
The owls are cool but I also like the fox more!
I love both owls and foxes! They’re equally cute and too different to compare!
Definetedly Foxes, their furry skins are beautiful, and their cute faces
are awesome.
For fur, fox is best. For crafting, who cares if you make both? I like them about the same much in crafts.
Since I think in terms of grandkids when I start thinking I would have to say owls for the girls and foxes for the boys…don’t no why just do.
For me personally…rabbits!
Foxes – so cute!
I am crazy about foxes right now. They can be adorable for the little ones and sophisticated for adults and as your totes shows, a basic design has a lot of character.
I like both!
I am a dog and cat lover so foxes are closely related.
Love foxes but for a gal who wanted to be an ornithologist when I was in grade school, owls for the win!
Wise as an owl or Sly as a Fox? Decisions, decisions. I want to be wise and sly. I have to pick 49% Owl/51% Fox.
I think foxes are my favorite, so furry and such cute faces.
Like them both but am leaning towards fox.
Owls — such possibilities with their eyes!
I like them both, they are wise and sly, think that we all can be that at different times. But if I had to choose then would be the Fox. I think that they can be pretty.
I have everything crossed in hopes they pick me, but good luck to all. Thank you for such a wonderful give away.
Definitely owls
I have just gotten started in the sewing circles of my life and still looking for just the right pattern for me to create something for me. I will find that said pattern and make that said outfit eventually but I will not give up until I do.
Today my pick would be foxes, but I have seen more owls in real life than foxes – and ultimately they are both fabulous creatures!
That’s a tough one, but I would have to say that the fox wins by a narrow margin. Jadahlgr at Yahoo dot Com
hmm, as a motif owls are easier, definitely. however, I’m Japanese American & foxes are considered companions of gods, & guardians of certain temples & shrines. so, I’ll always prefer foxes as a concept. Also, they & I both love fried tofu! lol
I love foxes. They’re cuter. Something about the owl’s eyes gets me.
Owls, probably because we have a family of owls on our property who entertain us regularly. They are fascinating to watch!
