It’s unbelievable, but it’s true. We’re so excited to re-release one of the most coveted sewing eBooks to date. What eBook is it?
Drum roll please.
12 Beautiful Tote Purse Patterns eBook
Who doesn’t love an amazing free tote purse pattern? This eBook, created exclusively on AllFreeSewing back in 2012, is full of free tote bags that are too precious to pass up.
What Free Purse Patten Tutorials I Recommend
Just because I’m feeling absolutely chummy and like I need a friend today, I’m going to recommend some of my favorite tutorials to you, loyal readers. This exclusive peek into the eBook and my head offers you the chance to choose your next project with an educated outlook. Let us begin.
Basic Purse Organizer
OK, yes I’m cheating in that this tutorial from the eBook isn’t an entire purse per se, however, it does fit into one of the purse tutorials in this eBook and just about any other purse you have.
Why do I recommend this tutorial? First of all, Gloria from Domestic Diva knows her way around a sewing machine. She can accurately relate a sewing tutorial and make you feel like you’re just as good as she is. Secondly, I’ve probably (as in definitely) lost hundreds of dollars, insurance cards, and most likely children in what my father inaccurately refers to as my, “big bag of money”. Purses need organization and this tutorial provides it.
Decorative T-Shirt Tote Bag
Yes, learning how to sew a tote is important for the modern day sewist. However, it’s equally important to remember 1) the year 2) the time of year. It’s 2014, everyone. Unfortunately a lot of us are still feeling the aftermath of a recessive economy. It also happens to be November, one month before Christmas, which means our wallets are getting ever-thinner with each gift we purchase for a loved one.
Why I recommend this tutorial? Exactly for the reasons above. Of course I’d love to splurge on crazy cute fabric, but the reality is it makes much more sense to use some t-shirt I’ve outgrown. Chances are I’d purchase fabric that is similar to my clothing anyway; it’s my taste I’m catering to. This is an easy tote bag tutorial and one you can recycle indefinitely.
Gym Tote Tutorial
I love this. I love the idea of veering away from the standard Nike or Adidas bag and instead going with something that’s totally “you”. Yes, this is a more challenging tote tutorial, but it’s a free tote bag tutorial nonetheless. Are you skilled enough to try it?
Why I recommend this tutorial? I could go into the details about how the actual instructions in this tote bag tutorial are extremely comprehensive and helpful. I could also expand on the fact that this is probably cheaper for those of you who have fabric stashes compared to going out and buying brand new duds for the gym. I could, but I don’t want to lie. The reason I recommend this is because all of the cool kids at the gym will look at your awesome handsewn tote bag and say, “Wow! Where did you get that?” and when you say, “I made it,” they’ll be astounded and you’ll get to walk out like you’re Paul Newman or something (to me his is the definition of “cool”). Have some fun; indulge in this tutorial.
