Most of the time I like a challenge but sometimes it’s nice to just sit and sew and not have to think too much about what you’re doing.
I have a tendency to pick out challenging quilts. I’m drawn to some special feature in them and tell my self that’s easy. I get it done and it looks great but I always under estimate the amount of work involved:)
Both. Depends on my mood.
I like easy quilts and often those can be a challenge to me. When I have worked all day, I am often brain challenged.
Love this amazing books giveaway. Just looking is what I do best.
I don’t always have a lot of sewing time, so quicker is better right now. Otherwise I never finish them!
Not much of a quilter. Hopefully these books would inspire me to get more involved in quilting.
Both; sometimes simplicity is welcome and gorgeous, other times something a little challenging gives you a sense of real accomplishment! Thanks for the opportunity!
I like easy patterns because I am a total beginner at quilting. I have a month old great grandson and his dad, my grandson, has asked me to make him a quilt. I want to have it done for Christmas but cannot start until the 20th so it will be a big challenge for me.
I do like challenging projects, but I’m a fairly novice seamstress so it doesn’t take much to challenge me:)
I like quilts that challenge me more than the simple but do enjoy a quick simple for a break from time to time.
I like creating quilts that teach me 1 or 2 new things, but that are not overwhellming — that I can learn in the first couple sit-downs, and then go on to automatic pilot.
I like to sew quilts, not too challenging. Very busy.
I like to sew quilts. Not to challenging as I am very busy.
I enjoy a challenge. Thanks!
Both! I did my first two quilts at the same time…one was very difficult (which was the one my friend was teaching me how to do) and the other was simple. While waiting for my next instructions on the difficult one I worked on the easy one because I was really enjoying the sewing process. Needless to say that is how I got hooked on sewing!
I like creating quilts that are easy… if they’re too complicated, I get frustrated.
I like both! I have made more easy quilts but I feel very accomplished when I finish a challenging one.
I love a good challenge. Jumped into quilting with a baby quilt and my 2nd is a queen size bed quilt.
Easy
Challenging but worth it
I like both. Sometimes I have to get something quick made, and others I like to make totally by hand so a little more time consuming. Thanks!
Well, since I am a beginner I have to do easy 🙂
I like both, but I go for the challenge designs first. It’s spreading one’s wings to learn something new and there is that sense of accomplishment when finished. But when I just want something fun, I go to little nine patches or four patches or just make a bunch of HST’s to arrange in a fun fashion. Thanks for asking!
Would love to win! I need just ventured on to a project and now I’m hooked!
Sometimes I like easy, so to work up fast. But too easy is boring.
great prizes
both
I prefer challenging.
As I will be just starting, I prefer quilts that are easy. Thank you for the giveaway!
I actually love challenging, symmetrical patterns. I like planning and piecing.
Like both, depending on my mood.
I prefer easy, new to quilting.
i love a good challenge 🙂
I like a bit of a challenge. Aside from the choice of fabric, I think easy quilts can be a bit boring.
As I’m a beginner quilter, currently I prefer easy! Thanks.
Both! Easy when I feel like just having some fun to do something quick.. Challenging when I want a reward at the end!
depends on mood, sometimes i like to relax with easy other times need a challenge
Honestly, even though this is embarrassing, I prefer easy because I’m not that great at quilting yet.
I prefer a challenge. If it is too easy, I lose interest!
Easy is the way to go!
I prefer an easy quilt.
I like making Quilts that are challenging to me.
I don’t like quilting to be hard. It can be challenging as long as it remains fun. Thank you for another great giveaway. Gosh I would like every one of those books. Thanks for the chance to win. I’ve also shared your giveaway on my Giveaway List for sewers & quilters at wowilikethat.com. Thanks again. You are always inspirational.
I still find “easy” patterns challenging. While not new to quilting, I still struggle with the perfect 1/4 inch seam and square blocks.
Always 1challenge a year and trying new techniques is a must.
Since I”m a beginner, I really appreciate the easier quilts! I plan to take some classes at my local quilt shop next year to increase my skills. These books would be really helpful to me!
Since I’ve only been sewing for a year, all quilts present enough of a challenge to keep me interested. I think it depends what mood I’m in. If I want to zone out and forget the day I do something I’ve done before and don’t have to think about too much, but sometimes I’m in the mood to learn, so I pick something with more of a challenge.
I like my quilt projects to be a little bit challenging, but not too much.
I am new to quilting so I wouldn’t be designing my own, and the patterns I would work off of would be easy at this point until I get more experience. Have a great day!
Easy!
I am still doing the ones that are easy to me……until I get some more experience then the sky it the limit on what I will be making…..
I like a little challenge. Usually the patter is easy for me, its the quilting to finishing that is challenging.
easy im not very good at it yet
I like quilts that are slightly challenging, but not too far out to where I will get discouraged.
I like easy quilts because I am not an accurate quilter, although I would like to be!
I like to learn something new with each quilt that I make. Sometimes the new thing is with the machine quilting. More recently it has been with foundation piecing, which is quite quite challenging. After doing something complex, I like a bit of a breather and do something easy for charity. I like to mix it up.
I like creating quilts that are easy …. I find it too frustrating if they don’t come out perfectly.
I like to use a mix. Sometimes it’s nice to just do a simple but sweet baby quilt. Nothing to complicated.
I like easy, I’m a beginner 🙂
As a newbie with a little bit of confidence every new quilt is a challenge and I LOVE it !!! I really love jumping in with both feet and learning every step of the way =)
I always love a challenge and the complex look.
Well, because quilting is rather new to me, even easy quilting is a challenge! Getting those seams lined up and corners matching in even the simplest pattern can be frustrating for a newbie.
Because I’m still a beginner, I like easy quilt patterns for now.
I like easy patterns but a few times ayear I do more comlicated quilts:) Thanks
I like challenging quilts. Often I will take a class to try a new and challenging pattern.
E A S Y !!!
Still NEW to Quilting!!!
Most of mine are on the easy side because I have found a long time ago that if you use the right fabrics and colors, simple is lovely.
I prefer making easy quilts, but once in a while I like something challenging. Thanks.
I’m still a beginner so they’re all challenging to me
I am a new quilter, so I prefer easy quilts. (Although these are a challenging to me. )
I like a challenge but I follow it with an easy one.
Easy. Still a beginner 🙂
I patchwork using EPP I don’t quilt
It depends on how much time I have if I like a challenge or easy.
I’m truly a very new student in the quilting world and like a sponge, soak up all things that have to do with quilting! So I challenge my self each day!
This quilt would definitely be a challenge for my limited skills but it’s one I’m going to have to try. Love the colors!
I enjoy all quilting from easy to hard, but my favorite is one that is pretty advanced, because then you feel like you have accomplished something you can really be proud of. I use to help my mother quilt when I was a child and she used a quilting frame that hung from the ceiling
I like simple projects for every day and more complex projects when I have bigger blocks of time available. My ideal vacation is spent dyeing and quilting.
I enjoy easy as well as a challenge. I really enjoy working with my daughters to complete a project. It’s like an extra Christmas morning.
I woud prefer quilts that I’m used to making, and throw 1 in the loop. Not often, just some of the time,.
Both.
I prefer easy quilts as I tend to want to get them done sooner than later. Also more intricate patterns may be too much for me. But I do love quilting!
Most of the time I like to challenge myself as a new learning experience, but once in a while I need the easy ones to visit the techniques I’ve already learned; sort of like visiting an old friend.
Usually a challenge is good.
I enjoy the simpler quilts. Even though I’m up there in age, I just learned to sew a couple of years ago so I get overwhelmed by the difficult ones. One day I hope to tackle something besides just 9 patches lol.
Easy does. Its all about the stitchin’ and a cup of tea for me! Relax!
I tend to go to the easier quilts, arthritis in my hands isn’t fun for quilting.
I love the pattern Rob Peter to Pay Paul.
I also look forward to my opening my inbox and finding the email from this site.
I have just begun to quilt so easy quilts are my forte right now but I hope that someday the challenging quilts will become something I can enjoy as well
I like challenges and since I am a beginner even the ‘easy’ quilts are challenges.
I still struggle with accuracy, so keep it simple for me. Love to look at the challenging quilts, but not yet.
I like to do table runners or lap quilts to learn new techniques but easier styles to make large size quilts. Usually have fun making anything.
I go for easy but it domes how to be difficult for me. Still learning. 🙂
I like things easy 🙂
I am new at quilting so I am still doing easy designs
I find that I prefer to do a slightly challenging quilt followed by a simpler quilt. It seems like I am taking on more challenging patterns by allowing myself that simple don’t think about it pattern in between
Mostly like easy to put together quilts.
I go back and forth between easy and not as easy, but never challenging. I like to try new patterns and techniques.
I’m at a beginners level… so I prefer easy designs for now. 🙂
I haven’t quilted in a long time. I’d like to start off easy then gradually advance in difficulty.
I usually like easier patterns so I can do more quilts. Some day when I can devote more time to quilting, I will take the time to do more challenging patterns.
I enjoy a challenging quilt with simple ones on the side when my mind needs a break.;
I like the easier quilts that help me build my skills
I like both types of quiltmaking. You cannot grow as a quilter if all of your projects are easy and some of the more spectacular quilts (i.e. Judy Niemeyer) are challenging. We learn new skills when we work on challenging quilts.
I’m a newbie so I’m all about the easy!!
I like projects that challenge me. I also like to do quilts that look difficult but are really just larger pieces sewn together , cut apart and re-sewn to look difficult. eg: disappearing nine patch.
I love both easy and hard depending on what and who I am making it for. I seem gravitate mostly to
the hard for some reason. I love to try new patterns and ways to do quilting
Konnie
If I’m in a hurry I like easy, but if the design is appealing I will do challenging.
I am a beginner still as I have only made 3 quilts, but I do love a challege.
I tend to go back and forth. After working on something challenging I need a fast easy project.
I love a challenge!1 LOl
Right now I prefer easy but I have saved several pattern books that have both. I consider myself as a beginner, because I haven’t done much quilting.
I like the easy to complete patterns.
I enjoy easy quilts because I don’t have the patients to spend months on a project
I am new to quilting so it would have to be easy until I get more practice
I consider myself a confident beginner but I gravitate towards easier quilts. I like simple, easy on the eyes and quick projects.
For stash busters, I prefer easy strip quilts.
For something new, I like to push myself to learn/master new skills and techniques.
At any one time I can have both going on. Who doesn’t have a UFO or 2. Sat I finished a simple quilt top! Now if I just had time to tackle at least one of my harder ones!
I know the fabulous quilts are challenging, but I am still learning a lot about quilts, so at this point in time, I prefer something that is easy and at the same time pleasing to the eye.
I hate to admit but I like easy! 🙂 thanks!
I’m going for easy quilts nowadays because I’ve let myself fall behind with the quilts I gift to new babies in our family and among my good friends. But since I’m also using up my stash (a la Bonnie Hunter), they are still very interesting.
However, I do love a challenge now and then.
I enjoy making quilts that provide me with an opportunity to try new techniques or to use fabrics and textures in new ways. So each quilt I make usually presents me with at least one new challenge. (But I don’t like making quilts that present me with multiple challenges at the same time. That’s a recipe for disaster…and for frustration!)
I like a challenge!
I like a little challenge 🙂
I’m a beginner, so right now I like easy
the harder the better. 🙂
There are times I like a challenge and other times I just need a quick gift.
I enjoy both. Challenging is great but sometimes a simple, easy one is called for. Right now I’m making a challenging one on geology with a snowy mountain, glacier, volcano, water fall, river, ocean, desert, rocks etc.
I’m all about easy.
I like an easy quilt that I can complete and give to someone. I work on a challenging one while completing 2 or 3 easy ones. I do like a variety!!
I’m new to it, so I need easy quilts.
I like both challenging and easy quilts. After making a challenging quilt I always do some smaller projects. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I am a beginner so everything is a challenge.
Most of the time I like a challenge, but if I need something quickly then an easy pattern is much better.
I love to sew and try new block patterns. I am still not talented enough to do some quilts but enjoy trying. My favorite are star quilts. I do not know if i could do this quilt. It looks complicated. Thank you for featuring all the beautiful quilt patterns on Fave Quilts.
I like some challenge, but not so much that the project becomes a chore and not fun for me.
I’m just starting, so I go for easier right now. I’m sure that will change in the future.
I am new at it so it has ta be easy for now.
Easy is best for me, especially if it uses up all my scracps!
Each time I make a new quilt design it is challenging for me. However, the quilts I enjoy making I make again and again. Each time the design is easier. So … I enjoy both challenging and easy!
Both easy and challenging, depending on whomquilt is for and how much time I have allowed myself to complete the quilt.
I enjoy a good challenge when the day is good !(LOL). I like to make all kinds of quilts for each of the Granddaughters as well as my daughters.
Thanks the chance to win !! IT would be so good to get some new ideas …
An easy quilt is a challenge for me! So both.
I don’t have a lot of experience with quilting so I don’t want to sew anything too challenging.
Easy for now since I am a beginner.
An easy quilt for me, as I just started quilting last year. I have a lot to learn
My wife likes creating quilts that are easy.
It depends on how much time I have. The projects where I’m learning something or using new materials are my favorite#
It depends how much time I have to complete it. They’re all beautiful.
It depends on how much time I have to complete it.
I love to do both. See I have had MS since I was a senior in high school so now at 33 I have it progressive. If I’m not feeling as well and slow I do the easy stuff because MS can take a lot out of me but I have a mother who lives with me and 2 boys who helps me as well. When I’m having a good day I do love to challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone because this, quilting I absolutely love to quilt and believe it or not I taiyght myself how to sew because I thought it would be great for a like physical therapy. The one thing I never realized what would happen is how much I have grown to love it whether it be both easy or challenging their both great and fun to do. Thank you for having this contest and giving somebody a chance even if it probably won’t be me lol I think they’ll have a lot of fun with your pattern books¡!¡!
I like a challenge, but have just started quilting so have a lot to learn.
I am new to quilting! I enjoy taking on new challenges.
I love needlework since childhood and have become a hatmaker in my professional life.
This giveaway would set me off in the right direction.
Love this blog! Success to all!
I like to make simple quilt designs but one of these days I will make a Lolly Pop quilt… promise!!
I enjoy a challenge
Both! Depending on how much time I have and whether I’m planning on giving it away or keeping it. Everyone in my family has a new quilt except me. I want mine to be special, so I’ve been taking my time choosing the fabric and pattern. It will most likely take more time, but that’s ok!
I usually make an easy quilt since I’m one that doesn’t like to have a project going on forever. I make quilts for each grandchild that graduates so I’m usually waiting until crunch time to start it. I can’t wait to see the finished quilt so that’s another reason I like fast and easy quilts. I have done harder ones but before I’m finished I find myself getting bored and vow never to do another one. This idea works until I get the notion to make another quilt.
