When you first open the project book from Sew Jewish, you won’t believe how much detail is packed into the pages. A mix of traditional and modern styles, these 18 projects range from beautiful home decor to meaningful pieces that are integral parts of Jewish holidays.

Maria Bywater, the creator of the award-winning site Sew Jewish, provides all the patterns, step-by-step instructions, and even historical background for every sewing project in the book, all presented in bright colored photos and crisp illustrations. There is even a chapter on basic techniques for beginners.

Sew Jewish Book
If you practice Judaism yourself or want to make gifts for Jewish family and friends, this book will provide you with unique and thoughtful ideas for gifts and decorations.

In the Shabbat and Holidays chapter, you will learn how to create your own challah or Passover matzah covers, assemble adorable Hanukkah dreidel game kits for the kids, and create many other must-haves for these Jewish events.

It seems like there is always a wedding or bat/bar mitzvah ahead. For the next one, make a delicate bridal veil, kippah, tallit, or even a huppah for the participants. Not only will this save money for the celebration but handmade pieces are always more meaningful on these special days.

Besides decorating for the holidays, this book also provides so many projects that would make the perfect gift for a Jewish relative or friend in joyous occasions, like weddings, births, housewarmings, or to celebrate other achievements.

The stunning and delicate applique designs, wearables, and decor paired with the simple sewing techniques and styles within these clear tutorials mean that anyone can create one-of-a-kind projects that will be treasured for years to come.

The book is available in eBook form on the Sew Jewish site or as a paperback from several retailers.

My sister in law is Jewish and lives in Brooklyn, NY. I have tried to sew items for her in respect of her beliefs, it’s so hard to find the right item to impress her. This is something that will help me out to make those decisions. Very nice offer.

The only Jewish crafts I have done were to provide examples of things that are Jewish tradition that are in the history of my faith. It would be really nice to have all of the information in one book with the details on how to make the items.

When my children were in Hebrew school they had to make a menorah for a contest. It was a lot of fun helping my son and daughter with their menorahs. I would love to have this book to work with my grandson if he ever has to make any projects for Hebrew school.

I would love to have a book that I can work through with my grand daughter on their Jewish projects and also to help them make things for themselves .It’s difficult to find Jewish patterns for things to make for different events. I think this would be a great book to hand down to my grand daughter as an heirloom.
