14 Nifty Ways to Refashion Your Clothes

August 18, 2014 by AllFreeSewing 1 Comment

There is never a bad time to go through your closet and take out things you don’t wear anymore. You may want to ask yourself what the problem is with them, though. Are they too boring? Too old? Too big or small? Well, no matter what the reason is for those articles of clothing hiding in the very back of your closet, there is always something you can do with them. If you don’t want to throw them out or give them away, refashion your clothes to make it seem like they are all brand new!

By this point, I think everyone has heard of making men’s button-down shirts into dresses by simply adding a belt. We are trying to get a little bit more in-depth here, though, by giving you new ways to refashion your clothes. This could mean sewing them into completely different projects or adding appliques to them to give them new designs. Whatever your project of choice is, you are sure to be happy that you have something new without spending hours in the mall trying it on and spending way too much money when you decide it might be worth it. (Emphasis on the might.)

With the following list of ways you’d like to refashion your clothes, I promise you won’t have to worry about spending too much money or making things you still won’t wear. These patterns both from AllFreeSewing and from other bloggers are sure to satisfy the bug in you that’s itching to do something with that dress you haven’t worn in three years or those plaid pajama pants that you won’t allow yourself to wear past your twenties!
